CONSORTIUM: CAP.LA is working with USC, Harvard, the Department of Angels, and the Altadena Recovery and Rebuild Corporation to form CONSORTIUM, a cross-sector collaboration that combines scientific expertise, community partnerships, and recovery-focused research to address long-term environmental health impacts from the 2025 fires. Together, CONSORTIUM helps fire-affected families understand and address environmental risks. Visit their website for more information.

USC Public Exchange: We understand some of you are still interested in receiving soil testing. To that end, we partnered with our colleagues at USC’s CLEAN soil testing program, who are providing lead testing for anyone in Los Angeles County. The soil testing available from CLEAN is completely free. The CLEAN team uses the same testing equipment and similar methods to test soils for contaminants as we do. CLEAN participants collect samples themselves using easy-to-follow instructions and leave them at drop boxes located throughout Los Angeles County.
